Unlocking the door to digital growth for the UK’s leading homebuilder
Transforming Barratt Developments’ digital estate across their Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Barratt London websites to enhance the customer experience and drive lead generation.
Creating a solid platform for future growth
Barratt Developments’ Sitecore platform was underperforming, they wanted to resolve legacy systems issues to unlock the full capabilities of the platform. The new site needed to be positioned in-line with the organisation’s customer centric aim of delivering the most seamless and efficient customer journey in residential property, that drives profitability.
We worked with Barratt Developments to upgrade their website and re-launch it on Sitecore v.10.2, transforming their digital estate for both the business and their customers. Since upgrading the solution, we have been running A/B testing as well as using personalisation across the site to continuously improve overall performance.
Improvement in speed to new feature releases
Faster front end experience: Page speed has increased by ~15%
Stabilising the journey
We first conducted a full holistic Sitecore audit, reviewing the existing implementation to understand the critical improvements needed to achieve the project scope. This revealed technology blockers that were inhibiting them from leveraging Sitecore’s most sophisticated features to get the most out of the platform.
Laying solid technical foundations
We rebuilt the site on Sitecore in line with best practice Helix standards and have integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, enabling smooth data transfer. We’ve also migrated Barratt’s Microsoft Azure infrastructure from IaaS to a PaaS setup in partnership with Rackspace. The new streamlined infrastructure has reduced costs and provided a solid platform for Barratt to leverage key Sitecore features going forward.
Continuous programme of optimisation
Barratt is now leveraging Sitecore’s most sophisticated features like Personalisation and A/B testing across their site. Personalisation within Sitecore is utilised to promote relevant offer schemes on development pages to the correct target audience. We’ve also implemented personalisation to show customers recently viewed developments, presenting them with the closest fit plots based on their profile and browsing history. A/B testing is now a key driving force behind all Barratt web development and digital roadmap. We are currently running tests across search results and all other key areas of the website to increase conversion rates across the key user journeys.
